Coinbase, Facebook and Google are Friends Again as Acquisition Debate Reemerges
Is Facebook Going to Acquire Coinbase in the Near Future?
Google and Facebook seem to be working in order to allow new crypto advertising campaigns to be available in their platforms. Back at the beginning of the year, these two important companies decided to ban crypto ads due to the increase number of scams in the space.
Twitter has also decided to ban cryptocurrency-related ads in order to be in line with the other industry leaders. But the move was clearly strange because Jack Dorsey continued praising Bitcoin.
Some days ago, Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase announced that Facebook made a U-turn and accepted Coinbase’s advertising campaign in the social network. At the same time, Google also decided to feature Coinbase’ ads. Until now, Twitter did not make any announcement regarding the ad ban.
Mr. Armstrong wrote:

An important rumor has also been circulating about Facebook acquiring Coinbase. Of course, this could have important consequences in the market, because Facebook is the most known social network all over the world, with 2 billion active users.
In an article published by The Independent, they talked about how Facebook could be thinking about buying Coinbase. Until now, neither Coinbase nor Facebook gave any comment on the matter.
At the same time, Armstrong said that the platform is working day after day with the intention to create a better product and service for the next growth cycle. It is important to mention that Bitcoin is also growing in the last days. Since July the 15th it grew more than $1,500 dollars.
It is important to remember that at the beginning of the year, Mark Zuckerberg said that he was going to study about the potential of decentralized currencies.
