Coinbase UK Resumes GBP Transfers And Adds Five New Cryptos; XRP, XLM, BAT, ZRX, And REP

Coinbase has recently announced on its official blog that it would resume its operations with GBP in the United Kingdom.

Coinbase UK offered the option to withdrawal and deposit GBP since March 2018, but the company had to remove it in August 2019. This happened because the company was only able to provide these services due to a partnership with the local bank Barclays. When the partnership ended, Coinbase had to find a new service provider.

Now, however, the company has been able to find a new domestic bank that can help with the transfers, so the services are reinstated after around two months.

Several crypto companies face a hard time when they have to find banks, as most of them don’t want to work with exchanges. After the partnership with Barclays ended, the company was in a rough spot, but it managed to find another provider quite quickly. However, the name of the bank that is providing its services for Coinbase UK was not disclosed until the time of this report.

Support For Five New Cryptos

Another important announcement that was made is that five new tokens would be added to the company’s list: Ripple’s XRP, Basic Attention Token (BAT), Augur (REP), Stellar Lumens (XLM) and 0x (ZRX). The clients will be able to buy, sell and trade these assets, which can be bought with GBP, too.

Now, the company is ready to compete with other companies such as Binance, which have a considerably high number of assets listed.
