CoinJar Trading Exchange In Australia Lists Zcash (ZEC) Cryptocurrency

Bitcoin and cryptocurrency exchange CoinJar of Australia has announced that it will be listing Zcash (ZEC). For the first time, crypto investors and traders in Australia will have an opportunity to get ZEC/AUD trading pair thanks to the order book on CoinJar Exchange.

Zcash (ZEC) is among the leading digital privacy coin. It will be listed alongside Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC) and Ripple (XRP).

It will be possible for traders and investors to now hedge their ZEC holdings against major conventional currencies like Great Britain Pounds (GBP), Australian Dollars (AUD), Euros (EUR) and Us Dollars (USD) for a temporary period to cushion their portfolios from possible fluctuations.

CoinJar clients will now be in a position to carry out transactions such as sending and receiving Zcash without necessarily having to use their CoinJar wallet. Users will BPAY to pay their bills using ZEC, carry out routine shopping using CoinJar Swipe, which is the first digital currency EFTPOS card in Australia.

Asher Tan, CoinJar’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) says that ZEC addition indicates the crypto exchange’s intention to expand its currency options.

He further said that his team feels Zcash is a vital addition to their current portfolio that consists of four digital assets. He said this noting that CoinJar is incredibly selective over the assets they select to add to this portfolio. CoinJar at the moment is only supporting Zcash transparent addresses, but have a plan to start supporting even the shielded ones when the opportunity arises.

Zcash, a decentralized and open-source digital coin that was forked from the Bitcoin block chain was developed and launched by Zooko Wilcox in 2016. Wilcox is a security specialist and a digital currency enthusiast. The coin also has had valuable contributions from a host of other crypto specialists such as Ethereum’s founder Vitalik Buterin.

The coin boasts of strong privacy protections for its users thanks to its zero-knowledge proof protocol, zk-SNARKS.

The listing of Zcash on CoinJar comes amid a busy year following a host of other activities. Just recently, CoinJar launched a digital currency fund, which the first index-style fund in Australia. It is also the same year that CoinJar exchange, which is the first in the same country has been established.
