ConsenSys Shares Out of the Top 20, Ethereum Dominates with 16 Dapps by Github Developer Activity
Tron and EOS might be beating the second largest cryptocurrency Ethereum in the Dapp ecosystem when it comes to the number of users, number of transactions, and transaction volume that has been primarily driven by the betting dapps.
However, Ethereum is the clear winner when it comes to developer activity. ConsenSys, a blockchain software technology company, founded by Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin in 2014, recently shared a medium post showcasing the top 20 blockchain projects with the most developer activity on the GitHub.
According to the data provided by the State of the Dapps, on the basis of the dev activity including commits, issues, pushes and pull requests from open source projects, Ethereum, Steem, and EOS are the most notable platforms.

GitHub data shares interesting trends about Dapps as while Tron is beating both EOS and Ethereum with numbers of users and transactions, looking at the developer activity in blockchain space in the last 30 days in relation with open source projects, out of the top 50 projects, 47 are built on Ethereum while EOS, Steem, and POA, gets one each. This indicates the obvious that the vast majority of the blockchain developer activity is happening on the Ethereum network.
The top 2 projects belong to Ethereum that are Status which is seeing a surge of over 10 percent in last 30 days in dev activity that suggests they must be working on developing iOS, Android, and desktop version of its app and Cosmos, this Tendermint-based blockchain interoperability platform is on its way to launching its mainnet.
Other popular Dapps on Ethereum network that belongs in the top 50 are Augur, MetaMask, Ox, OmiseGo, Basic Attention Token, Trust Wallet, Kyber Network, Aelf, MakerDAO, Golem, and Chainlink.
High Fidelity is at the 3rd spot that belongs to the EOS network, seeing a surge of 190 percent in its dev activity in last 30 days which is working on EOS integration.
At 11th spot, the updates interface for the Steem blockchain, eSteem is enjoying a healthy user base, however, it’s GitHub activity has been down about 45 percent from last month. Down below at 41 place is BlockScout, an open source Ethereum explorer which is based on POA network. POA itself is an Ethereum-based platform which is an Ethereum sidechain that uses Proof of Autonomy.
