Craig Wright Apparently Flees Australia, Heads to the Tropics to Be a Barbuda and Antigua Citizen
It seems that Craig Wright has raised the BSV from the dead. He is an Australian Lawyer who is famous for referring to himself as Satoshi Nakamoto; he went ahead to file an application with the Copyright Office in the United States claiming the ownership of the Whitepaper for Bitcoin. From this, it led to speculation on the legal implications, which resulted in BSV getting an abnormal rise in its price of about 83% in just a day.
There Seems To Be An Interesting Change That Took Place
Other than the application story, the other very strange thing is the lawyer claiming that he is a citizen of Barbuda and Antigua and that he is not from Australia. But this seems to have been changed just recently because from the previous copyright requests, it stated he was an Australian citizen.
He has been silent on social media after he had filled several lawsuits against individuals who doubted he was Satoshi Nakamoto. But in one of his recent posts, he states that the Caribbean states have a more flexible system than in Australia.
The news of the new file application has brought about a lot of controversies. It is said that the US government on one side recognizes his request as being the author of the Bitcoin Whitepaper. But on the other hand, a majority of individuals within the BSV community deny this, all they see is just an application that does not recognize him as the actual Satoshi Nakamoto.
In statements for Coingeek, Founding President of pro-BSV “Bitcoin Association” Jimmy Nguyen said:
We are thrilled to see Craig Wright recognized as author of the landmark Bitcoin white paper and early code. Better than anyone else, Craig understands that Bitcoin was created be a massively scaled blockchain to power the world’s electronic cash for billions of people to use, and be the global data ledger for the biggest enterprise applications. We look forward to working with Craig and others to ensure his original vision is recognized as Bitcoin and is realized through BSV.
