Cryder is a decentralized taxi platform for freelance drivers. Find out how it works today in our review.
What is Cryder?
Cryder is like a blockchain-based version of Uber. Any driver can use Cryder without any requirements to start earning extra money. Cryder charges 0% commissions without fixed rates, making it “the most profitable platform on the market.”
Cryder can charge low rates because they have no central authority with high overhead expenses. That also means the platform has no central authority that collects, processes, and keeps the privacy data of users. Users remain anonymous, an all their routes are anonymized.
Like Uber, users send a request to the platform (saying they want to go from point A to point B) then select their preferred offer.
What Problems Does Cryder Seek to Solve?
Cryder believes that today’s taxi and ride sharing platforms face several major problems, including all of the following:
- High license costs
- Limited number of licenses available
- Acquiring a license is a demanding and time-consuming procedure
- Taxi and ride sharing companies are faced with burdensome bureaucratic requirements and lots of paperwork
- These companies face high day-to-day running costs
- Regulations are extremely different across jurisdictions
Overall, Cryder argues that the old-fashioned taxi industry is stuck in highly-regulated, burdensome regulations, with ride sharing companies like Uber and Lyft stuck in legal lawsuits worldwide. Additionally, passengers face uncertain regulations around the world. Passengers also lack an international payment method they can use for all rides.
How Does Cryder Work?
Here’s the basic process users use to request a ride from a Cryder driver:
Step 1) You send a request for a ride with your current location and destination
Step 2) All drivers nearby receive your request and make an offer to you in Cryder tokens
Step 3) You check all offers and select the preferred one
Step 4) When the offer is accepted, tokens are reserved by Cryder
Step 5) After receiving the notification of acceptance, the driver can go to the pickup location
Step 6) When you successfully arrive at your destination, the deal is complete and the driver receives his or her earned tokens
The Cryder network is independent, automated, and fully anonymous.
One of the unique things about Cryder in comparison to other ride sharing apps is that the company will not all riders to view the name and gender of the driver who’s picking them up, nor will they be able to see the vehicle make and model. Riders exclusively choose between driver offers based on price. There’s no rating system.
