Crypto Asset Strategies: Adam Sharp’s Early Investing ICO Tips?
What Is Crypto Asset Strategies?
Crypto Asset Strategies is an online newsletter about cryptocurrency investment written by Adam Sharp and published by the company he co-founded, Early Investing. Sharp pitches the newsletter in a lengthy video where he bundles it with several other products and even promises subscribers $250 in Bitcoins as an incentive to sign up.
The video bears all the hallmarks of a classic get-rich-quick scheme, with virtually no technical details or mentions of the market's extreme volatility, yet plenty of incredible success stories. Alarmingly, Sharp's claims about some assets' returns directly contradict the price charts he displays.
Sharp's video was published in October 2017, when there were indeed massive profits to be made in cryptocurrency investing, but the market has changed considerably since then; in late 2017, the cryptocurrency bubble began to burst, and as of June 2018 many of these assets have lost more than half of their value.
Who Is Behind Crypto Asset Strategies?
Crypto Asset Strategies appears to be solely the work of Adam Sharp. Sharp is the co-founder of Early Investing, a publishing firm founded in 2013 that is responsible for several newsletters related to investment opportunities outside the stock market. Sharp claims to be an angel investor who has funded more than 80 startup companies, and an early adopter of cryptocurrencies who has earned over 1,000% on these investments.
Sharp states in his pitch video that Early Investing has well over 100,000 subscribers, but there's no way to verify this. The company' social media pages have fewer than 25,000 followers between Facebook and Twitter, and these followers don't seem particularly engaged with the pages' posts. Sharp doesn't appear to have his own social media presence, and searching the internet for more information yielded few results aside from his own articles.
How Crypto Asset Strategies Early Investing ICO Tips Works
Sharp states that in Crypto Asset Strategies, he primarily recommends investing in cryptocurrencies that are incorporated into some application or platform, since the currency's value will be directly tied to the service's popularity instead of being determined by speculation alone.
Sharp evaluates potential investments based on five factors: their leadership, actual and potential market size, code details, “tokenomics” (profit potential), and ICO structure. He seeks investments that have a highly experienced management team; that are positioned to be in high demand; that use robust software that won't be compromised by hackers; that will continuously deliver dividends, or stabilize their value through “buy back and burn” programs; and which have an ICO structure that rewards early investors with deep discounts. These considerations should be common sense for any investor.
Perhaps the most alarming aspect of Sharp's video is that he appears to be explicitly lying about the returns generated by many cryptocurrencies. At least ten times throughout the video, he shows charts that directly contradict his statements; for example, he claims that the PIVX token has risen in value by 271,526% while displaying a chart that shows it rising from a few cents to about $4.
Most egregiously, he states that Bitcoin rose over 1,000,000% while showing a chart that covers its change from a few dollars to about $6,000. While it's true that many cryptocurrencies saw extraordinary growth in 2017, virtually none came anywhere near the sort of improvements that Sharp repeatedly describes.

- A password that allows access to the exclusive Crypto Asset Strategies website, where subscribers can directly send Sharp questions that will be answered in monthly Q&A webinars.
- Access to a video training series about cryptocurrency investing.
- The phone number for Early Investing's customer support team.
Sharp's video states that there are only 500 subscriptions available, which he expects will sell out “in the next few minutes.” However, considering that the video was published in 2017, this seems to be a ruse designed to pressure viewers into subscribing.
Sharp also states that he'll give each of the 500 subscribers who respond to this pitch $250 worth of Bitcoins that they can use to begin investing; he displays a screenshot of his cryptocurrency wallet with a balance of $125,000 in Bitcoins, and states that instructions on how to claim this bonus will be sent to each subscriber after they've signed up.
Considering the significant decline in Bitcoins' value since the video's publication, it's not clear whether this aspect of the offer is still valid.
Crypto Asset Strategies Verdict
Crypto Asset Strategies is a get-rich-quick scheme; it should be very obvious to serious investors that this service has nothing to offer, and even amateurs interested in cryptocurrencies should be able to see that Sharp is exaggerating these assets' returns.
There is very little information readily available about Sharp or Early Investing to suggest that they are in fact reputable financial advisors, and since the company's followers on social media engage with them so little, it's difficult to determine existing subscribers' sentiments about the service.
Sharp's pitch video for the Crypto Asset Strategies video is, as of June 2018, simply outdated; the explosive growth that was taking place when the video was published appears to be over, and most cryptocurrencies are now very volatile investments.
The cryptocurrency speculation bubble seemed to spawn a great deal of “investment gurus” pitching subscriptions to some newsletter; these videos follow a general trend where they boast about their own successful investments, share several of their subscribers' rags-to-riches stories, and completely gloss over the fact that investing is risky.
However, because he boldly exaggerates the returns generated by cryptocurrencies while showing charts that directly contradict his statements, Sharp's get-rich-quick pitch stands out as among the most egregiously dishonest.
A subscription to Crypto Asset Strategies is not worth $50, let alone $5000.
