Crypto.com Integrates EUR Bank Transfers via IBAN to Connect Bank Accounts to Cryptocurrencies
Payments and cryptocurrency platform, Crypto.com has recently revealed that bank transfers will now be found within its wallet and card app thanks to the International Bank Account Numbers (IBANs). This endeavor will supposedly be implemented in accounts found in the European Economic Area (EEA).
According to the Senior Vice President and Head of Crypto.com Product, Adrienne Wong – who provided the specs of the new effort – users can now decide between funding their wallets through their preferred traditional payment method, i.e. debit or credit cards. The perk of bank transfers is that users can use this feature free of charge, which was done to induce ease of use and interest in investing in crypto.
IBANs has been deemed as suitable in Crypto.com’s ultimate goal in bridging society and the crypto sphere, as it automatically connects users’ “traditional bank accounts to their digital currencies.” Moving forward, the team plans to make this service inclusive by providing it to those holding non-EEA bank accounts.
What is the IBAN?
As previously noted, IBAN is short for International Bank Account Numbers and said numbers will allegedly be assigned to users’ in Crypto.com’s wallet app. Wong also notes that the EUR account number can be used in a European Economic Area, which includes 31 countries as such:
- Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and UK
This news comes weeks after Crypto.com underwent a brand change. In September of this year, the team involved revealed that they completed the overall brand identity transitioning, while launching the aforementioned wallet and card app.
As for the brand identity, it has been described as being the “iconic blue and white Ethereum Lion,” which supposedly reflects with their portfolio and the services they provide. Changes to the MCO product line have since remained the same, as it can be found on both their MCO Visa Card and Crypto.com MCO token.
