10 Years Passed Since Hal Finney’s Iconic Tweet
Surprisingly for many of us, ten years passed since Hal Finney posted on Twitter one of the most iconic posts ever made on the social platform. This is apparently the first tweet about Bitcoin (BTC) ever registered on the popular social network.

Hal Finney was a computer scientist from California that was deeply involved with Bitcoin. He indeed received the first ever Bitcoin transaction from Satoshi Nakamoto himself. There were some theories pointing at him as being Satoshi Nakamoto. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in August 2009. Later in 2014, he died due to this disease.
Cryptocurrency enthusiasts are currently remembering him on social networks such as Twitter.
Today marks exactly 10 years since the legendary Hal Finney posted what could be the most iconic tweet of the 21st century. R.I.P. Hal! 🙏 #Bitcoin https://t.co/ovEuTz31aT

Bitcoin was created 10 years ago when on January 3/2009 the Bitcoin network came into existence. Satoshi Nakamoto mined the genesis block of Bitcoin.
Hal Finney has been cryopreserved by the Alcor Life Extension Foundation. Several enthusiasts believe that in the future it might be possible to know all the things that Hal Finney did not share about Satoshi Nakamoto and Bitcoin’s development as a whole. If the technology is advanced enough to take him back alive once again, he could share new things that now we still don’t know.
