Crypto Influencers on Twitter are Being hit With SIM Card Hacking

Crypto Influencers can't seem to catch a break these last few months. From that occasional pitched battles between themselves over critical developments, to being subjects to a number of highly expensive offers in order to buy their channels, they have been hit by another issue.

According to the Twitter user, Tommy Mustache (@Tommyp408), a hack is circulating major influencers, which threaten to compromise their mobile phones. In order to help against this, @Tommyp408 gives some simple to follow advice:


How many people have been affected by this SIM card hack remains to be seen, but this same method has been used to devastating effect in the not too recent past.

It was through this method of SIM card swapping, that hackers managed to breach AT&T, resulting in the hacking of Michael Terpin, a well-known cryptocurrency entrepreneur, costing him a great deal of cryptocurrency as a result, and led to a lawsuit with the cost of $224 million.
