BitConnect was a scam crypto-related project that promised very larger returns for investors but that ultimately didn’t survive.
Matos Says He Lost Money on BitConnect
Matos mentioned that he invested over $25,000 into BitConnect and that he took some small profits from this scam.
When the digital currency BCC reached its highest point, he had over $250,000 that he couldn’t withdraw. On the matter, he commented:
“As you guys know, the tragic end of BitConnect was that it fell down and everybody lost everything. I was one of those as well. I lost most of the amount of money that I had in BitConnect, which was over $250,000.”
Moreover, in the same video, he says that he has been victimized by several scams in the past as well, including BitConnect. He lost more than $100,000. Nonetheless, he does not say that he made money after promoting the digital currency and project in the market, something that not many individuals were able to do.
There have been several individuals arrested in India related to the BitConnect scam. Nevertheless, there are several authorities such as the FBI that are asking for help in the investigation of the worldwide fraud.
Now, BCC has a price of $0.72 according to CoinMarketCap. In January 2018, the digital currency was traded close to $430.
