Crypto Soldier John McAfee Joins Chinese Social Media Platform Weibo

John McAfee Launches His Own Weibo Account to Connect with Chinese Crypto'ers, Also Announces Branded Blockchain News & Bitcoin Market Website

The simple, free solider and crypto innovator John McAfee had an eventful day on Twitter. In a series of tweets, McAfee revealed that he had created an official profile on Weibo and that he was also setting up a cryptocurrency new websites.

Weibo is a Chinese microblogging website. It’s like the Chinese version of Twitter or Instagram. In a tweet, McAfee thanked Mia Tam (@_blockandchain_) of Asia Crypto Today for helping him set up the Weibo account.

It’s an important development for McAfee’s fans in China. Google, Twitter, and Facebook are all blocked in China. If you want to communicate with Chinese markets, then Weibo is a crucial first step. With 431 million monthly active users, Weibo is the largest social network in China by far.

McAfee’s Weibo posts will be written in English and Chinese.

One of McAfee’s first posts on Weibo revealed his cryptocurrency news website called McAfee Market News. The website is described as “your premier cryptocurrency market center.” You can find it online at McAfeeMarketNews.com.

As we go to press, McAfeeMarketNews.com is currently down, with no reason given for its downtime.

“I released McAfee Market News to provide tools that will facilitate China’s access to blockchain technology,” explained McAfee in his post.

Although the site is currently down, we assume it will provide news and updates about the crypto industry and blockchain space. It’s unclear if the site will focus specifically on China, or if it will focus on the blockchain industry as a whole.

The 72-year old antivirus pioneer-turned crypto evangelist has been heavily involved with the crypto community in recent months. Earlier this summer, he generated controversy for promoting the “unhackable” BitFi wallet. Meanwhile, earlier today, he accused two British crypto analysts of stealing $72 million from him. That accusatory tweet was sandwiched between the tweet announcing his Weibo account and the tweet announcing his news platform.

Just a few minutes ago, McAfee tweeted a video of an octopus swimming around the ocean and camouflaging itself against various surfaces. McAfee compared the octopus to the crypto industry.

“You think the future of crypto is disappearing? Dont be fooled. The certainty of the supremacy of crypto is plain, if you simply look.”

It’s unclear how much influence McAfee has in China. Is the average crypto user in China familiar with John McAfee? We don’t really know. However, if McAfee’s Weibo account is as active as his Twitter account, he can expect him to generate quite a bit of attention on any social media platform. Whether you are a fan or don't follow along with his entertaining antics, one thing is for sure, John McAfee gives it all he has and in all seriousness has seemed to be that way his whole life, enduring alot of success along with trials and tribulations but no way can you question his heart and determination to make cryptocurrency's future brighter faster. With his CEO position at Luxcore decentralized exchange and Cloak blockchain phone, along with his latest proof-of-encounter token launch and on top of his new websites and now Weibo social media account to connect with the other half of the world, our beloved Crypto Soldier is not going anywhere.
