The cryptocurrency market has been rife with fluctuations, but they seem to have little influence on the community, which is still going strong. This year, especially the start of it, has shown a great deal of unpredictability. Even “stablecoins,” which are meant to be stable, had lost over 60 percent of their market value from January to July.
Crypto Coin Performances for First Half Of 2018
Perhaps one of the best overviews of performance for the start of this year is the coin ranking issued by the CoinMarketCap App in January, which is as follows:
Here is a look for July:
The four top coins, Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Bitcoin Cash did not fluctuate, but kept their places over time. Of course, what did change is the price. For example, Bitcoin’s highest value back in January was over $19, 528.93, which later plummeted to $7,426. Ethereum, Ripple, and Bitcoin Cash saw reductions in value as well. For example, each lost 57.7%, 85.83%, and 82.57% respectively.
The Best And Worst Performers
The best performing coins that saw gains in value include Paccoin, Hexx, Ontology, Mithril, and Casinocoin.
On the other hand, the worst performers include Bitconnect, Rise, Mybit Token, OP Coin, and Bitgold.
With all of this information, it is interesting to take a look at the market now and to consider its state. In the last few weeks, performance has been pretty good. Bitcoin has also gotten back up to $8,000 and the market is looking forward to another Bitcoin bull. Even with many having their hopes up, the true teller of success will be time.
What do you guys think will happen in the second half of 2018. So far we have had a nice run up towards the end of July only to get back down to near-year end lows first half of August to date. However, many are bullish on the remaining of 2018 yet not all experts agree and think 2018 will be the year of “behind the scenes innovation” whereas 2019 will be the year in which everything comes to the forefront and the price will reflect that.
We also have all of the “When will Bitcoin ETF Approval” happen which could issue in alot of sidelined-money via Institutional investors and the like. It shall be interesting, and one thing you can count on is that it will be interesting and we will be there to cover it ALL for you, our beloved reader and dear visitor!
