Cryptokitties Exhibit Finds Its Way Into A German Museum To Explain Blockchain
You have probably heard of Cryptokitties. This popular Ethereum decentralized application debuted in November 2017 and it has been very popular since then. Now, this platform that encourages people to learn more about new cryptos will get its own exhibit in the ZKM Center for Art and Media, a German museum.
During the exhibit, the game will be used to explain what is the blockchain technology and how it works, which is a good idea since Cryptokitties has been making the public aware of cryptos for a long time now.
The company responsible for making the blockchain-based cats is Dappler Labs, which recently decided to make a partnership with the digital art firm Meural to launch this exhibition, which will be called Bringing Blockchain to Life. Its main function is to show how the blockchain works in real time.
This exhibition will be displayed as a digital artwork. According to the CEO of Meural, Vladimir Vukicevic, Meural Canvas is the ideal way for cryptocurrency enthusiasts to show off their crypto collectibles.
About Cryptokitties
Cryptokitties, which exists for almost a year now, is not really a new token, but an Ethereum-based game based on collectibles, the cats, basically. It encourages people to use altcoins and Ethereum. The main vision of the project is to raise awareness to the blockchain technology with its crypto collectibles.
Every Kitty is different and they have different valuations that can go to six cents to six figures (yes, you read it right). Recently, a Crypto Kitty was displayed at the Christie’s Auction House in New York and it was sold for $140,000 USD.
The platform was a big hit at first but it slowed down together with the cryptocurrency market this year. During the high point of the craze, people paid as far as $200,000 USD for a single Kitty.
The CEO of co-founder of Cryptokitties, Roham Gharegozlou, believes that the appealing artwork and aesthetics are the main reason why the project was so successful in the first place. Now, he intends to use the game at the exhibit to show off the cryptocurrency world to more people.
