DASH Applies Long Living Masternode Quorums, Launches ChainLocks to Avoid 51% Mining Attacks
Developers of the recognized virtual currency Dash, have announced the release of Dash Core v0.14.0 software that will be modifying the crypto’s mainnet. This is one of the most important rollouts in a process that aims at improving the whole crypto and it is called Dash Evolution. The information was released by Dash on its blog post on May 22.
Dash Releases Dash Core v0.14.0
This update is going to improve Dash’s user experience enabling immediate transaction confirmation without having to reduce security. Moreover, they have introduced ChainLocks that eliminates 51% of attacks from the network. This is something that Proof of Work (PoW) networks are vulnerable to.
The three main improvements include long living masternode quorums (LLMQ), ChainLocks and InstantSend. The first improvement will be optimizing Dash network’s consensus that will increase confirmation speed and decrease network stress on individual nodes.
The second improvement, LLMQ-Based ChainLocks, are going to streamline on-chain confirmation and making it impossible to successfully pull off a 51% attack on the network. Finally, LLMQ-Based InstantSend will follow the deployment of automatic InstantSend. This improvement will allow users to conduct real-time transactions.

Ryan Taylor, the CEO of Dash Core Group, commented:
“This release has been a major moment on our calendars for quite some time, and I couldn’t be prouder of the work being done by the Dash developer community. Our goal for Dash Evolution has always been for it to make Dash the most user-friendly blockchain-based payment system in the world.”
At the moment, the Dash network and developers are working on different improvements related to Dash Evolution, making it easier for users to complete transactions and have enhanced features at the time of using the network.
The release of v.0.14.0 is the final step before releasing Dash Evolution, which will also enable dApp developers to create decentralized applications without using a full node. Moreover, the Dash Core Group will be releasing is own consumer-facing payments application that is known as Dashpay.
