DASH Payments Accepted at Fast Food Restaurants KFC, Subway and Papa John’s in Venezuela
Several large-chain restaurants in Venezuela re accepting payments using Dash, the country’s cryptocurrency. So far, the list of restaurants include KFC, Subway, and Papa Johns.
KFC is accepting Dash payments in Caracas, the capital city of Venezuela. If successful, it will expand to 24 other locations across the company. The co-founder of Dash Merchant Venezuela and Dash Text, Alejando Echeverria, has been collaborating with the food business to boost the widespread adoption of Dash. The efforts seem to be successful, as there around 2,445 merchants in the capital city that are accepting the payment system.
Echeverria stated, “The Dash movement is spready and growing fast in Venezuela. First it was food trucks and small family businesses and that started to adopt Dash for payments. Now we’re attractive more established businesses.”
With greater adoption of cryptocurrency as a form of payment, Dash would be able to maintain a successful business. Further, the country’s hyperinflation issues and sanctions are both good reasons for the country’s cryptocurrency use.
Dash has high hopes for the future. According to Echeverria, he hopes that there will be 10,000 accepting Dash payments in the coming year. Further, it seems that the country’s citizens prefer Dash over cryptocurrency due to its quicker transaction time. Dash’s transactions take two and a half minutes, while Bitcoin’s take around 10.
KFC seems to be profiting as well. The food chain’s most popular product is a ten-piece bucket of chicken with waffle fries, gravy, and two dips for bitcoin. The bucket is called the “bitcoin bucket,” and so far, it seems to be available in Canada as well.
