DASH Text SMS Wallet Service Gets Telegram Integration as WhatsApp Denies DASH Coin Support
Dash Text, which provides cryptocurrency payment services to users of Dash coin, has been incorporated into the Telegram application in Venezuela and Colombia, which has greatly improved the use of the coin.
This incorporation was done after a few months of its beta trials. Lorenzo Rey, the Co-founder and CTO of the Dash Text service stated that the Telegram app seems to be the best application for the integration, since it supports the use of cryptocurrency on older software versions of smartphones without the need for any additional software such as digital wallets.
Telegram Is Ideal For Cryptocurrency Newbies
Lorenzo said that because of the simplicity of Telegram, just about anybody would be capable of using the Dash Text service through it, with little or no knowledge of how cryptocurrency works, making it easy for the adoption of Dash by new users through Telegram.
The Dash Text Process on Telegram
The moment anyone starts using the Dash Text service on Telegram, their Dash text SMS wallet (a new one will be set up if none exists) will be immediately connected to their Telegram account.
Dash Text Growth
The Dash Text service has gained huge popularity, which recently hit Colombia, and also plan to be launching in Spain, Argentina, Chile and other Latin countries. Payment remittance will be mainly in the United States.
Facebook-owned “WhatsApp” Rejects Dash Text Integration
With the fact that Whatsapp is very popular in the regions listed above, Dash Text proposed that the service should be integrated in the app, but the messaging app has rejected this proposal. It is believed that this rejection is due to plans of Facebook to launch its own cryptocurrency, and plan for whatsapp to be the first application for it to be used on.
Although Lorenzo and the team at Dash Text saw this coming, they didn't didn't see it happening so soon. He said :
“Honestly it didn’t surprise me as much, as soon as I heard Facebook was developing their own cryptocurrency I imagined at some point they would try to stifle competition in their own apps, I just didn’t think this would happen for a couple of years, so we still thought it was worth opening that channel of accessibility. Telegram is a much more crypto friendly platform and it’s also a non-profit so I don’t see them doing something similar at all.”
