DataLight Shows Coinbase is the Most Popular Mobile App. More Than Top 6 Exchanges Combined

A recent study shows that Coinbase has a commanding lead over all other exchanges when it comes to mobile users. As a matter of fact, in the month of December, Coinbase’s popularity with mobile users was more than other top 6 exchanges combined. Additionally, Coinbase has the most desktop users too.

The study was done by a cryptoanalysis firm DataLight. Coinbase has over 2 million mobile users which is almost twice as much as Binance with 991,409 users. The gap between the two exchanges is significantly smaller when it comes to desktop users(2.1 mln and 1.7 mln). The other exchanges are far behind with Bithumb having 513,892 mobile and 148,829 users for the third place.

Notably, Coinbase has been a critical platform for early adoption of cryptocurrencies owing to the easy UI and dedicated sections to teach beginners. Adding to the range of learning and discovery tools, Coinbase last month announced that they are going to aggregate news articles by third-party sources on their mobile app. This feature was one of the most requested ones for Coinbase and it adds to their assertion that people are ready to get started with crypto.

Coinbase, as a company is also doing pretty well. Earlier this month they announced the opening of its new office in Portland, Oregon. Their new office hosts a variety of business-related functions. Over the last few months, Coinbase has been hiring customer support agents, finance specialists, and compliance, IT, and HR personnel. The company originally aimed to add 100 jobs to the local economy.
