Dave Morin, Path Social Network and Facebook Connect Platform Co-Creator, Joins Blockstack
Blockstack announced that Dave Morin will be joining the firm as an advisor. According to the announcement, the move will be to
“shape the future of decentralized apps.”
Morin co-founded and ran Slow Ventures, a venture in Silicon Valley that provides capital for innovative and long-term projects. In addition, he was involved in Facebook’s early days and co-created the platform. Other experiences include empowering developers and bringing his passion about digital assets to the community.
The announcement indicates that one of the reasons that Morin is joining Blockstack as an advisor is due to the network’s entire architecture, which is developed from the ground up to focus on users and to give them the power back. The platform allows users to own their data and connections and to manage when they want to use or shut down an app. Further, the platform envisions growth in massive scale, which it states is
“not a pipe-dream anymore.”
The platform also has over 70 apps and is focusing on security, privacy, and freedom.
