Dave Portnoy Already Million Dollars Deep in Bitcoin, Also Ventures into Altcoins

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy finally helped 1.7 million of his Twitter followers understand Bitcoin after Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss came to his house to teach him the basics of the largest cryptocurrency or better yet “to make you a Bitcoin billionaire.”

Whether Winklevoss twins were successful in helping him understand or not, given that by the end of the video Portnoy still “literally have no idea what bitcoin is,” he has dived in as he is “7 figures deep now in this.”

Portnoy said he had already purchased $250,000 worth of Bitcoin and bought a further undisclosed amount of BTC while on the stream.

This is expected to get the crypto industry to gain more traction.

“This should drive some flows, either way, no idea how big or small. Opening and funding crypto accounts are not immediate,” said trader and economist Alex Kruger.

Interestingly, yesterday, bitcoin’s price shot up from $11,270 to $11,850 with Portnoy now calling for BTC to hit $12,000 today and then 12000000000.

While on the talks of gold, which is for boomers, they went on another tangent, with Bitcoin surely the “only fixed asset in the galaxy.”

Well, it wasn’t all bitcoin, the trio also discussed the hot crypto-asset Chainlink (LINK), and invested in the digital asset too, which has been on a parabolic run throughout 2020.

Besides venturing into altcoins, he is also interested in his very own crypto called “Dave Coin,” and the twins are on board to help him bring yet another “shitcoin” into the crypto world. He might or might not now have understood bitcoin, but Portnoy surely got the crypto market mechanisms pretty fast given his eagerness to create his coin just to pump and dump it.
