Do you remember Ol’ Dirty Bastard, a member of the Wu Tang Clan who passed away in 2004? Well, he is getting a new cryptocurrency.
The son of Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Young Dirty Bastard (whose real name is Bar-Son James) announced that he is going to launch a new cryptocurrency called Dirty Coin soon, which will be used to fund music projects.
The artist has stated that blockchain technology is one of the biggest inventions of mankind and that he would be left “out of the party”. The creation of this coin was a product of a partnership between the Old Dirty Bastard Estate (owned by Young Dirty Bastard) and Link Media Partners, a music company.
Dirty Coin ODB Wu-Tang Clan's Son's Crypto
Dirty Coin (ODB) will be based on the TAO blockchain. The cryptocurrency was created for two main goals, to fund a new album created by Young Dirty Bastard and as a currency which can be used by the fans of the artist. The TAO Network is a blockchain focused on music created in 2016.
Young Dirty states that if the fans buy the cryptocurrencies, they will be able to attend to shows and to buy merchandise almost for free because they will pay only pennies for the cryptocurrency right now, but a lot of money later if they pay using fiat currency.
The Future Of Dirty Coin
Young Dirty has even claimed that this project might make other people in the entertainment industry get involved in the blockchain market. He believes that as soon as other important artists get involved, “there’s gonna be a chain reaction”, he states.
It was stated that Dirty Coin will have an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) in the summer of 2018, but no additional information about this cryptocurrency would be released. After the ICO, you will be able to get the ODB tokens from exchanges, but they will naturally cost the market price, which will be more expensive.
