Eligma

Eligma is an “AI-driven and blockchain-based cognitive commerce platform”. Find out what that means today in our review.

What Is Eligma?

Eligma, found online at Eligma.io, aims to change the way we discover, purchase, track, and resell products. Eligma is a blockchain-based marketplace driven by artificial intelligence.

A token sale for Eligma tokens begins in late March 2018.

Basically, Eligma is a decentralized marketplace that aims to take the concept of an online marketplace to the next level. Eligma will allow users to buy and sell items using cryptocurrencies, for example. However, the platform will also let you check the value of items in your house, then decide on the best time to sell those items. There will also be a universal loyalty program involving the platform’s ELI tokens.

With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at how Eligma works.

How Eligma Smart Blockchain Commerce Product Network Works

Obviously, a number of organizations are attempting to create decentralized online marketplaces using blockchain technology. What makes Eligma different? How does it work?

Eligma wants to create a one stop shopping experience from where users can shop “in all the online stores anywhere in the world.” At the same time, users can check the value of items in their household, then learn the best time to sell those items. Eligma will also offer users a completely decentralized loyalty program.

The end result of Eligma is that it can help transform every household into a business. You can leverage your home’s “inventory” and check the value of everything you own. You probably own many valuable things that you no longer want, need, or use. Eligma helps you take advantage of wealth you didn’t even know you had.

With that in mind, there are three core functions of Eligma, including:

Discovery: Global product discovery from a unified shopping account. Pay with cryptocurrencies and view a digital profile for each item.

Inventory: View the predicted value of an item you own based on AI. Access your own “household trading agent” and post items on secondhand listings. Sales are processed through the decentralized blockchain.

Loyalty: Eligma has a universal loyalty program where users are rewarded for contributions. Every merchant can join, with ELI tokens used as a payment option.

What Problems Does Eligma Seek To Solve?

Why do we need a solution like Eligma? Here are some of the problems it seeks to solve with today’s online e-commerce experience:

Too Many Online Stores Leads to Wasted Time: There are too many online stores available today. Users spend too much time bouncing between different websites. It’s an inefficient process.

Cannot Buy Using Cryptocurrencies: Cryptocurrency payment solutions are not widely adopted, and that’s why it’s hard to find online stores supporting cryptocurrency sales.

Cannot Track Everything You Own: There’s no “inventory” feature for your possessions. We acquire assets all the time, but we don’t have a way to track these assets. This makes it difficult to make the most of what we own.

Lack of Privacy: Every online store monitors your every move. Your behavioral data is spread around the world. There’s an overall lack of privacy with the online shopping experience.

Too Many Loyalty Programs: There are so many loyalty programs from which to choose, and users are constantly pestered to sign up to a new loyalty program and reap the rewards.

Eligma ELI ICO Details

The Eligma ICO for ELI tokens will begin with a pre-sale from March 20 to April 10, 2018.

The main crowdsale will take place from April 17, 2018 to May 8, 2018.

Of the total supply of 500 million ELI tokens, 60% are devoted to the crowdsale, 19% to the Eligma team, 5% to advisors, 4% to future partners, and 12% for community and user growth.

How Do ELI Tokens Work?

Eligma tokens (ELI) can be used for a number of different features and rewards on the platform, including:

  • To purchase items from Eligma
  • To use the “Product Hunter” service on Eligma (which uses AI to assess the value of your possessions)
  • To list offers on Eligma’s secondhand market
  • To use Eligma’s escrow services
  • To complete decentralized item sales on the blockchain
  • To advertise on Eligma
  • To buy from merchants involved in the Eligma loyalty program

You’ll also receive tokens as a reward for various activities. In general, if you promote the platform, update your profile, or stay active on the website, then you’ll earn rewards. Some example ELI token rewards include:

  • User registration
  • Providing additional profile information
  • Purchasing items from Eligma
  • Adding items to your inventory
  • Uploading receipts
  • Referring new users
  • Referring new online stores
  • Publishing whitelists that lead to sales
  • Conducting social media actions that lead to sales
  • Receiving a reward from merchants for being a loyal customer

Ultimately, ELI tokens are both a payment mechanism and a loyalty point on the Eligma platform. In addition to purchasing items with Eligma tokens, you should be able to purchase items with other cryptocurrencies as well.

Who’s Behind Eligma?

The idea for Eligma was formed in September 2017. The company initially received 1.5 million EUR in funding. The company is based in Slovenia.

The company was founded by Dejan Roljic (CEO and Founder) along with co-founders Matej Gregorcic and Joze Mermal.

Prior to founding Eligma, Roljic founded a high tech accelerator called ABC Accelerator. He also founded and led Sappcor Ltd. as CEO.

Other listed members of the Eligma team include Alexander Danilov (CTO), Bostjan Mrak (Lead Machine Learning Engineer), Ziga Toni (Chief Operating Officer), and Timotej Polach (Chief Security Officer).

Eligma Conclusion

Eligma aims to introduce its AI-driven item discovery in Slovenia before the end of 2018, with the full platform expansion scheduled for 2019. If successful, Eligma could revolutionize the way we shop for products online. It could allow us to maximize our “inventory” of assets we own, using AI to check the value of everything prior to selling it.
