Elon Musk Tweets: “Whoever Owns the Early BTC Deserves Nobel Prize in Delayed Gratification”
A recent CoinDesk report took on Founder and CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk’s viewpoint on the potential of Bitcoin [BTC] and cryptocurrencies altogether.
Musk supposedly took to an interview with ARK Invest on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, where the creator shared that cryptocurrencies “bypass currency controls,” adding that paper money will eventually cease and be replaced by a much better alternative (i.e. crypto).
In spite of the obvious support Musk has for cryptocurrencies, he responded to the piece on Twitter by indicating that he carries very little BTC to date, as seen in the tweet right below.
That said, I still only own 0.25 BTC, which a friend sent me several years ago. Don’t have any crypto holdings.

It seems like Twitter user, Tom Heats (@Tom_Heats) doesn’t buy that Musk doesn’t have any BTC – suggesting that the CEO might have a stash elsewhere. Musk replied to Heats that, “Whoever owns the early BTC deserves a Nobel prize in delayed gratification.” What this implies was unclear at first, but shortly after, Musk shared a “surprise”, which entailed Tesla’s “Official ETH and BTC Giveaway.”

Crypto fans are supposedly given the option to participate in either an ETH or BTC giveaway. A Medium Post regarding the details has since been made available, and it seems like those who, “send in 3 BTC or 60 ETH, will get the Grand Prize: a fully customized Tesla 3 model, delivery included, color of choice (including currently unavailable Obsidian Black & Metallic Silver!).”
The “delayed gratification” in this case could easily signify the wait that must continue upon the arrival of one’s Tesla (that is, if the suggested amounts have been delivered)! What do you think he meant by such an open statement about Satoshi Nakamoto? Did we hit or miss? Let us know in the comments below.
