Emin Gün Sirer Says “Tron Isn’t an Operating System” as Ethereum’s Buterin Supports the Latest Attack on Justin Sun

In what’s the latest savage attack on the Tron Foundation, more specifically its CEO, Justin Sun, Ethereum Foundation’s co-founder has waged in on the sentiments of Emin Gün Sirer.

Emin Gün, a renowned crypto, and blockchain Cornell professor, had stated the same, alluding to Sirer’s Blockchain Rule #73.

Emin Gün Sirer, a Cornell University professor, has immensely contributed in P2P systems besides Oss and Computer Networking. He is also the co-director of The Initiative For Cryptocurrencies & Contracts has a knack for tweeting his mind on anything and everything that affects the industry.

As a graduate student, the professor helped develop SPIN kernel. Right now, he’s involved in the development of scalable protocols for sharing blockchains, a project he’s engaged in alongside ETH’s best brains, Vitalik Buterin, and Vlad Zamfir.

Tron had claimed to be among the Operating System behemoths in the planet, something that the Prof vehemently spoke against! According to Sirer’s Blockchain Rule #73, “Anything publicized as a “Blockchain OS” is nothing, but an embarrassing muddle.”

“I know Operating Systems.

I have built Operating Systems.

Tron is no Operating System.” He twitted.

Referring to the 9th largest cryptocurrency in the world, Emin Gün Sirer twitted it to his 75k followers. And being a reputable influencer in the crypto world, such massive statement coming from him readily elicited a hot debate.

So hot was it that even Vitalik Buterin couldn’t have avoided to wade in and throw a few jabs on the direction of his nemesis. Tron, according to Vitalik Buterin, adopted a trick of throwing their coin into the world of cryptocurrencies, knowing too well that enthusiasts would not doubt its legitimacy.

It should be remembered that this isn’t the first of Justin Sun-Vitalik Buterin fights

In several instances over the recent past, Ethereum’s co-founder and the founder and CEO of Tron Foundation, have been battling for supremacy openly on Twitter. In December 2018, Sun remarked on Vitalik’s assertion that, unlike ETH whose emergence had initiated hype, the catalyst for a future bull-run would actually be useful in its use.

He seemed to suggest that ETH rose out of mere hype that engineered its success from 2017 to this far. And so, unlike the buzz, the bull-run of the future would be based on Tron and more so, its massive dApps adoption and BitTorrent.

Buterin, of course, couldn’t have taken such a statement lightly. And so, in his dissent, he hit back at Sun, saying that by having a mere dollar sign and a ticker symbol, Tron is a mere shilling not even worth lending an ear.

It remains to be seen how far their feud will go, however.
