Emrify is a decentralized personal health record platform that delivers trusted health information to users worldwide. Find out how it works today in our review.
What Is Emrify?
Emrify is a blockchain-based ecosystem that seeks to change the way we use healthcare information.
The platform consists of crucial items like the Emrify Health Passport and the Health Information Token. Through these items, Emrify promises to “deliver trusted health information to the right hands at the right time anywhere in the world.”
Emrify’s personal health record management app has already been available for iOS and Android for two years. Now, by migrating to blockchain technology, they’ll rebrand their product as a Health Passport.
An ICO for Emrify tokens begins on May 5.
How Does Emrify Work?
The Emrify ecosystem is a decentralized personal health record management platform built on top of the Ethereum public blockchain.
The goal of the ecosystem is to create attractive cryptoeconomic models that incentivize health data sharing for all parties. In other words, Emrify wants to encourage users to share their health data through the platform by allowing medical organizations – like research companies – to pay for that data.
So far, Emrify has already developed a personal health record management system, a clinical trial management system, a drug facts pill ID system, and a drug barcode scanner.
The ecosystem revolves around the Health Identity Token, or HIT. This token will be used for all transactions within the ecosystem. It can pay for transaction fees to transfer and access medical records, for example.
There will also be “health miners” in the Emrify ecosystem. Users can contribute health data for rewards and payments on the network “just like bitcoin miners.” Users can set their own data prices and compare market rates. Anyone can be a health buyer. You can sell health data like data from your wearable health tracker.
Users can manage their health data through the Emrify Personal Health Record, which is a mobile app currently available for iOS and Android. The app has been on the market for the past two years.
Emrify emphasizes all of the following features:
Personal Health Record: Use this app to track your personal health data. It’s available for iOS and Android.
Health dApp Store: Emrify will have a store for decentralized health apps, allowing developers to launch decentralized products and services to the Emrify community.
PillSync: Emrify has a feature called PillSync that gives users access to one of the most comprehensive drug databases powered by the US National Library of Medicine. It allows users to quickly lookup accurate drug information. You can search for specific drugs or scan a barcode for the drug you’re looking at.
Health Registry: Users are free to share their data with anonymous participants on the network. However, legitimate healthcare organizations can register themselves on the Emrify Health Registry, which gives them a different status in the Emrify ecosystem.
Health Passport: Emrify will eventually rebrand their Personal Health Record as a Health Passport. The Health Passport will be based on blockchain technology.
The Emrify (HIT Token) ICO
The Emrify ICO is taking place from May 5 to June 5, 2018. The tokens are listed as Emrify Information Tokens, or HITs.
Tokens are being sold at a rate of 1 ETH = 25,000 HITs to health organizations and other health stakeholders. The rate rises to 1 ETH = 22,000 HITs during the pre-sale, then to 1 HIT = $0.025 USD during the crowdsale.
Of the total supply of 1 billion HITs, 40% are going to the crowdsale, while the remaining tokens are going to the users and contributors (30%), the founders and core team (20%), and the foundation (10%).
Who’s Behind Emrify?
Emrify is led by founder and CEO Tom Nguyen, who has been self-funding Emrify “to solve his own personal goal of health expectancy exceeding 150 years.” Tom is a serial entrepreneur.
Other listed members of the team include James Black (CTO), who holds both computer science and electrical engineering degrees and has extensive healthcare industry experience.
Emrify is based in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
Emrify ICO (HIT Token) Conclusion
Emrify is one of several companies seeking to disrupt the global electronic health record management ecosystem. The platform will use Health Identity Tokens, or HITs, to reward users for sharing health data. You can aggregate your health data into a blockchain-based profile called your Health Passport.
Emrify already has an existing health record management app. By migrating to blockchain technology, Emrify hopes to make a more secure solution powered by cryptocurrencies.
