Estonian Fintech Startup Crypterium Launches Global Crypto Payments Card, “Crypterium Card”
Earlier this week we reported a story about Coinbase launching their crypto Visa Debit card to 6 more europian countries. This trend seems to be spreading like a virus as Crypterium, a fintech startup based out of Estonia is launching their first crypto card, but the major advantage over Coinbase is that this will be available globally.
There are many advantages to the Crypterium Card. First and foremost is that the card is borderless. There is a spending limit of up to $10,000 per day or $60,000 per month. The card is compatible with the Crypterium mobile app which lets you check your payment history, top-up the card, change your PIN and more. Their app is also integrated with the top 10 exchanges which offers the customers the best rates available for each transaction. They realize that privacy is a priority, thus the card is protected against data sharing and other similar threats.
Their app already has over half a million users in the US and UK alone. It is easily available for people who want to open an account, all they need is a proof of identity such as a passport, national ID or driver’s license.
Crypterium CEO Steven Parker identifies the problem of crypto acceptance and wants o solve it. He says:
“One of the major barriers to general crypto acceptance has been the fact that it is very difficult to spend cryptocurrency in the real world, and any solutions offered so far have been confined to specific countries or retailers.”
When asked about the power of cryptos to be a global payment solution, he states:
“But the beauty of cryptocurrencies is that they are designed to be borderless and global. The Crypterium Card lives up to this borderless, global ideal: anyone can apply for one and start using their cryptocurrencies to pay for things in everyday life. This has the potential to take off as quickly as NFC.”
