Ethereum Blockchain Video Game “HyperDragons” to Use Tenfold Protocol to Scale
‘HYPERDRAGONS’ Video Game
HyperDragons, a digital strategy video game that runs on the Ethereum Network, recently integrated Tenfold’s layer-2 blockchain in its system. This was after collaboration between MixMarvel and Tenfold Protocol that was aimed at solving the scalability problems that the game might have initially had.
In regards to how the partnership will benefit players, Tenfold Protocol CEO Derek Chiang said the strategy will lead to an expanded game play as well as minimized transaction costs.
“HyperDragons is a great game and with Tenfold it’s better, faster, and cheaper for players. We are excited to deliver our layer-2 scaling solution to the ‘HyperDragons’ community,” Chiang said.
Both MixMarvel and Tenfold anticipate that the collaboration will increase the number of the game players as well as reduce the total transaction costs incurred by the players.
Tenfold Protocol is a platform that seeks to provide a solution to scalability issues in decentralized applications (dApps). Through its solutions, Tenfold will provide dApps with efficiency, security, and lower transaction costs.
Currently, dApps built on Bitcoin and Ethereum are slower, which can be attributed to the technology they are built on, which in turn results in their games or social media networks having to be updated frequently, have slower network speeds and higher transaction costs.
Tenfold’s layer-2 solutions to this challenge will involve using layer-one blockchain to process high value transactions off-chain. Layer-one will work on top of the existing blockchain in the dApp and in doing so, improve the speed and make the decentralized applications more scalable. The solution is not restrictive, as it allows dApps to be written in any language and is compatible with any blockchain.
Improved HyperDragons System
The game is played through building kingdoms, participating in the arena battles where players could fight on the blockchain, and finally gathering assets. Some of the scalability issues that the game had was the fact that the battle arena could only handle a maximum of 32 players per battle.
However, through the application of Tenfold’s layer-2 scaling solution, the battle arena can handle approximately 2,048 players per arena battle. Another way that the scalability solution will improved the game is by increasing in hundreds the number of arena battles that can happen in a day.
A Fruitful Collaboration
Similarly, MixMarvel, who are the founders of the HyperDragons game, have indicated that through the collaboration, there will be lower Ethereum transaction costs and thus saving them a lot of money. Additionally, the collaboration will also result in most of the in-game transaction processing occurring off-chain. This will benefit the players, as it will ensure that the transactions are instant, secure, and anonymous.
One of the co-founders of the MixMarvel, Yiyi He, highlighted that their games and dApps that are powered by the Tenfold protocol will offer players with a tremendous experience and value for their money.
“With Tenfold, our blockchain in-game experience has the potential to rival the traditional game user experience. “ HyperDragons’ is just the beginning of Tenfold and MixMarvel’s relationship. All upcoming MixMarvel games and the community will be powered by Tenfold,” Yiyi He stated.
In the near future, MixMarvel will utilize the Tenfold Protocol into most of its games such as Ground Hunter, which is a first person shooter game and other of its blockchain-based games and development kits.
