Quick Facts:
- E*Trade seems to be advertising itself through Google
- Financial companies are trying to offer clients new crypto trading services
According to a recent report released by Bloomberg, the investment firm E*Trade is currently working to launch a new crypto trading desk with Ethereum (ETH) and Bitcoin (BTC) as trading options. Now, there are some users that claim that the company is running paid ads on “Cryptocurrency Trading” search on Google.
E*Trade Advertises Crypto Trading Services
Although the new advertisement did not mention virtual currencies or blockchain technology, it appears side by side to Gemini, Coinbase, and BitcoinIRA.

At the same time, Crypto Youtuber and Airswap’s Robert Paone helped to notice that there was an advertising campaign paid by E*Trade. This shows that the institution is getting ready for launching its crypto trading services to the market.
Nathaniel Popper, New York Times’ journalist specialized in virtual currencies, wrote that insiders are saying similar things to the ones as reported by Bloomberg regarding E*Trade and its intentions to offer crypto trading services for users. That means that BTC and ETH tickers will be appearing on their portals. In the future, the firm could add support to other cryptocurrencies such as Litecoin (LTC) or XRP.
This shows that there is a large mainstream endorsement for cryptocurrencies from a wide range of financial companies. Indeed, Fidelity Investments is currently testing its own crypto product for companies and larger investors. Meanwhile, Facebook and JP Morgan are working on their own virtual currencies that are expected to be released in the market to the near future.
The Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) is working on its own platform to allow larger investors have access to Bitcoin and digital currencies. The platform is going to be called Bakkt and is expected to be launched throughout the year.
