First Ever Satoshi Nakamoto-Blessed Bitcoin Forum, BitcoinTalk, Lost a Third of Its Referrals in February

The BitcoinTalk community seems to be on the decline. According to traffic data generated by website analytics firm SimilarWeb shows that referrals to the website have decreased by a third in February. The platform, founded in 2009 and famous for being the first space where a bitcoin transaction was negotiated for some pizza, seems to be in some tough times.

The decline also coincides with that of Google Trends, which also shows that there has been less interest in Bitcoin. For example, on December 1, 2018, search queries for the term “Bitcoin” declined by 26% since March 18, 2018. The exact search volume via Google Trends is unknown.

These issues may also be in light of Bitcoin’s decline in price over the past year.
