FirstBlood Blockchain eSports Platform Announces dApp Beta Release and 1ST Token Rewards

FirstBlood has announced the beta release of its FirstBlood dApp, which is built on the Ethereum blockchain. The eSports platform is designed to reward players with 1ST tokens whenever they win in head-to-head competitions.

FirstBlood announced the news on its official twitter handle, saying that they are excited to launch the product and more information about it will follow later. The tweet read as follows:

Only Dota 2 Game Is Supported

Currently, the beta version of FirstBlood dApp only supports Dota 2 game in solo mode, but the company anticipates that in future it will likely have a multiplayer version as well as more eSports games.

Game Requirements And Roles

In order to begin playing one will need to have 1ST tokens, an Ethereum account (created either through the FirstBlood dApp or MetaMask), a few ether to pay for gas when making 1ST transactions, the application itself, and a Steam username which gives a user identity.

When it comes to roles that users play, the online battle arena game offers four positions: Player (the ones in challenge), Host (a volunteer to begin the game lobby), Witness (a randomly selected person from the witness pool to check results and report them),Juror (a randomly selected user at the request of either player to inspect the results provided by the witness), and a referrer (those who introduce new users to the FirstBlood dApp).

What Is FirstBlood dApp?

FirstBlood dApp is basically a desktop-based application built on the Ethereum blockchain and running on smart contracts to allow players to challenge each other in eSports games. Before starting, the players in the head-to-head challenge contribute same amount of 1ST tokens, which is awarded to the winner.

The 1ST tokens are ERC-20 tokens that help drive the FirstBlood dApp. Apart from being used to reward the winners, the tokens are also used to incentivize the jury system as well as the witnesses.
