BitGo Custody adds a former Senior Vice President of Xapo digital asset custody, Pete Najarian, to its network of executives.
Reports of Grayscale’s security provider, Xapo’s assets being acquired by Coinbase is ringing bells across the cryptocurrency industry. Earlier last week, BitGo, a digital asset service provider, announced they were receiving calls from previous Xapo clients to move to their digital assets in their coffers. The company, however, is not satisfied with Xapo’s assets and clients as it chases the talent in Xapo too.
The cryptocurrency custodian announced the addition of Pete Najarian, a former sales chief in Xapo to its executive team.
Najarian is experienced in institutional investment having previously worked at a number of global financial institutions. Pete worked as Global Head of Emerging Markets Sales for Royal Bank of Scotland prior to Xapo, providing guidance and leadership in institutional investment sales in over 27 countries across the globe. Furthermore, the new BitGo chief revenue executive has held positions across boards in financial committees including the Foreign Exchange Management Committee for the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Speaking on the latest acquisition to BitGo’s executive team, Mike Belshe, CEO, BitGo showed delight and praise for Najarian. Having the experience working in the legacy financial markets and digital markets is a step further for the development of BitGo, Belshe remarked. He further said,
“Pete has a deep understanding of capital markets and an exceptional breadth of experience in financial services. This makes him a perfect partner for institutional investors who are entering the cryptocurrency market . . . Pete’s experience in both traditional financial markets and cryptocurrency will be critical.”
Pete shared praise for BitGo and his overall passion in institutional investment saying,
“In my conversations with institutional investors, it’s clear that interest in cryptocurrency continues to grow, and that there is a real and significant opportunity […] What impressed me about BitGo is the company’s commitment to delivering both the services and depth of client engagement that are required to build long-term partnerships with institutional investors.”
