FTX Intensifies its Marketing Efforts with A New Ambassador and Shareholder, NBA’s Stephen Curry
“Just getting started in the crypto game…y'all got any advice??” tweeted basketball star Stephen Curry on Monday.
And just a day after soliciting advice, Curry announced a partnership with the cryptocurrency exchange FTX.
“I’m excited to partner with a company that demystifies the crypto space and eliminates the intimidation factor for first-time users,” he said in the release, noting this partnership marks Curry’s first investment in the crypto space.
Welcome to the FTX Team, Stephen Curry!
We're excited to announce he's become FTX Global Ambassador and a shareholder. Though, who better to announce it than @StephenCurry30 himself?! pic.twitter.com/Ypj50hnumG

The Golden State Warriors guard is just one of the many and the latest high-profile name captured by FTX, who now holds an equity stake in exchange for being a brand ambassador as the company intensifies its marketing efforts. No other exchange or company in the crypto space has been engaged in so much promotion.
Previously, Football superstar Tom Brady and model Gisele Bündchen and Shark Tank’s Kevin O’Leary also signed their own deal with FTX. Not to mention, the exchange has bought the naming rights to ‘FTX Arena’ where NBA’s Miami Heat plays, the Cal Golden Bears, and is the official crypto exchange of Major League Baseball.
In July, the exchange closed a $900 million deal which valued it at $18 billion.
FTX will also partner with Curry’s foundation, Eat.Learn.Play.
“After meeting and speaking with Stephen, it was clear that he is a seamless fit for FTX,” said Bankman-Fried, FTX CEO.
“His tireless commitment to charity alongside a ferocious work ethic to become the greatest in any arena he steps foot in, whether it is basketball, investing or business, perfectly align with FTX’s core values.”
Recently, as we reported, the NBA icon also bought a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT (BAYC) for $180,000 and has made it his Twitter profile picture (PFP). Just this week, FTX also launched an NFT minting platform for both its US and global users. These NFTs will be built cross-chain on both Ethereum and Solana.
