Actually, despite currently being in the middle of the Western Conference Semi-finals of the NBA playoffs, up 3 games to 1 on the Pelicans, basketball superstar Stephen Curry, will be participating in the CryptoKitty platform with his own animated figure.
Yes, the Golden State Warrior player has decided to launch the first celebrity-branded CryptoKitty.
With this deal, the intention is to expand the collectibles application by adding other purchasing possibilities and kitties. In the future, new tokens could be released featuring celebrities and other popular icons.
According to Caty Tedman, head of partnerships of Ethereum based CryptoKitties, there will only be three exclusive Steph Curry CryptoKitties.
“We are launching a series of Steph Curry CryptoKitties, so there will be three exclusive Steph Curry CryptoKitties [which] will be representative of his personalities,” she commented. “The first will be sold by him, and it’ll be up to him whether he wants to sell the other two.”
The partnership has been arranged by Moji – the emoji app development company owned by Stephen Curry – and CryptoKitties.
Mack Flavelle, co-founder of CryptoKitties said:
“Stephen is the perfect partner to try out this new kind of Kitty. He’s an incredible athlete, but also has a deep interest in technology and innovation.”
As mentioned before, there will only be three CryptoKitties related to Stephen Curry. Two of them are related to his professional career as a basketball player, while one of them will focus on Curry’s budding culinary process.
CryptoKitties is an Ethereum-based digital card game that allows individuals to buy, sell and/or own virtual cats. The company behind CryptoKitties is known as AxiomZen which is located in San Francisco and Vancouver.
The most expensive cat sold on the platform was paid 253.3368 ETH ($184935 USD at current values). The transaction was registered on December the 7th, 2017. The platform moved more than $12 million dollars since it started its operations.
