Grammy Winner Launches Minerva Music to Utilize Blockchain for Music Distribution
Grammy-winning artist, Andre Allen Anjos — who is better known by his alias ‘RAC’ — announced recently that he was partnering with Dj Josh Legg (Goldroom) to create Minerva Music, a record label that will make use of a novel blockchain infrastructure to distribute its musical offerings to people all across the globe in a hassle-free manner.
In this regard, it should also be pointed out that to achieve its goal, Minerva will be joining hands with a number of startups such as Stem and Ujo Music to make its native business interactions much more streamlined.
More On The Matter
As per a news story released by Billboard recently, RAC is quite sold on the idea that ETH will allow more and more artists to achieve a greater degree of autonomy when it comes to getting a fairer income for their music.
On the issue, he was quoted as saying
“Our goals are to give artists a higher level of autonomy, more separation from the traditional music industry, and ultimately insure that the way they are paid is as streamlined as possible,”
Additionally, it should also be pointed out that Anjos has been dabbling with blockchain technology since 2017 — a time when he released a full-length album on the Ether blockchain.
- Minerva Records has already signed a number of artists to use their platform. These include big name players such as Metsā, Chela, Nolan Garrett and NASAYA.
- The record label aims to release its first offering sometime later this month.
In closing out this piece, it should be pointed out that the use of crypto enabled technologies is nothing new within the art scene. For example, there already exist a number of artists who have previously accepted altcoins such as BTC, ETH for their creations. Not only that, some famous industry personnel has even lent their support to certain ICO projects over the course of the past year or so.
