Head Of Ukrainian Village Council Shares Crypto Profits With Villagers
In a year that reflected numerous crypto hacks, some good has also been witnessed. In particular, a recent News.Bitcoin.com report revealed that the Head of Ukrainian Village Council, Maxim Golosnoy purchased cryptocurrencies on behalf of the residents of the village.
With the unexpected profit earned, Golosnoy announced that each adult resident will be getting a fair share.
As per the reporting of a local news outlet Segodnya, Golosnoy purchased the Cardano tokens as an experiment, in which he invested $500 of his money. The price of each token at the time of purchase was USD$0.14, and once it reached about USD$0.39, he sold some of his holdings. The news of the profit sharing was supposedly revealed to the people of the village during their meeting in which the head affirmed that the share is worth 100 hryvnias.
In terms of how the funds will be given, the head shared the following:
“This was a cryptocurrency experiment. No budgetary funds have been spent and you still have the cryptocurrency. The funds you have just received are only dividends.”
One would think that the shares earned would be spent on one’s own family, but the residents of the village came together and agreed to use part of the funds to better road conditions, which is set to commence next spring.
This definitely shows the power cryptocurrencies have in bringing together a community!
