Hear Crypto Pioneer Brock Pierce’s Intense Bitcoin Future Talk and Institutional Investors Insights
Bitcoin’s Future and Institutional Investors on Bitcoin Podcast 225
The Bitcoin Podcast released its episode #225 in which they talked about different topics including Bitcoin adoption, the future of the crypto space and institutional investors entering the market.
In the program, they starting talking about cryptocurrency adoption and how the world could move into this direction. Clearly, we are far from having a world run only by virtual currencies, and we might never even have it. However, there are different companies investing in cryptocurrencies and accepting payments in Bitcoin or other altcoins. More ATMs are being installed and institutional investors would certainly start to place their funds in the crypto world.
Another topic they discussed about was related to a cryptocurrency scam in which the owner of the platform could run away with all the Ether (ETH) that users invested in the company.
Furthermore, they have also talked about the upcoming Bakkt platform created by the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). This platform is being specifically designed for institutional investors that do not trust current cryptocurrency-related platforms. The intention is to offer institutional-grade services and produts to different wealthy investors.
After it, they debated about Samourai and the release of ‘the most private and anonymous Bitcoin wallet’ in the market. At the same time, Samourai decided to remove fiat currency conversion from its wallet in order to change how users think about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
That means that users will now be able to see their balances denominated in Bitcoin and Satoshis, but not in US dollars or any other virtual currency in the market.
On the matter, Samourai commented in a blog post:
“We believe it is fundamental that our existing and future users understand that when they transact within the Bitcoin network when they participate in the Bitcoin economy, they are transacting with the token native to that network, BTC, and nothing else.”
At the end of the podcast, there is an interview with Brock Pierce, chairman of the Bitcoin Foundation. Three years ago, Pierce gave a definition about Bitcoin in which he explained that ‘it’s democratizing the global financial system in a way every person gets equal access.’
He said that this is ‘still largely true’ but that there’s a lack of infrastructure for users to get equal access and that we are just at the beginning of this path towards adoption.
