Henry Kravis, Famous Billionaire Investor And Entrepreneur, Makes Initial Crypto Investment
According to reports from this morning, the well known billionaire investor, philanthropist and entrepreneur, Henry Kravis has been steadily working towards a possible future plunge into the world of cryptocurrencies, and Crypto assets in general.
This is according to an earlier report from Bloomberg late this week, Kravis – who is previously well known as the co-founder of the international investment company, KKR & Co. – has reportedly taken a particular interest in the dedicated cryptocurrency fund that is offered by the financial company – ParaFi Capital.
The news itself comes from the founder and Chief Information Officer of ParaFi itself – Ben Forman – who was a former KKR employee himself before departing in order to establish what was then the San Francisco-based digital asset startup company.
Bloomberg further reported that a spokeswoman speaking on behalf of Kravis has since declined to comment on this investment at this time.
Ben Forman goes on to better describe ParaFi Capital as operating like an “investment firm focused on the blockchain ecosystem” supported and backed with funding from the likes of Bain Capital Ventures, Dragonfly Capital Partners as well as a number of others. According to other news outlets, ParaFi has since made substantial investments in the fellow San Francisco-based crypto exchange – Coinbase as well as the Ethereum-based Stablecoin developer and digital governance initiative – MakerDAO.
Along with working on a range of debt investments, Forman himself has also led a range of research efforts on behalf of KKR in the fields of blockchain technology as well as Crypto before deciding to ultimately leave the firm in 2018.
Forman goes on to report the following:
“While I toyed with the idea of pursuing blockchain investing within KKR, it was clear to me that the firm did not provide the optimal format to do so. Instead of pursuing crypto at KKR, I wanted to build the KKR of crypto.”
Kravis himself has an overall estimated net worth of more than 5.8 billion dollars as of reports from Q2 / Q3 2018, and is ranked as being the 365th wealthiest person in the world, according to rankings published by Forbes Magazine.
