HEX Innovation to Showcase a Blockchain Medical Information Platform
HEX Showcases Their Own Blockchain Enabled Medical Platform
Currently, HEX is already responsible for the management of large volumes of data, but has announced that it will integrate its data with blockchain technology in order to give a higher level of security for medical documents such as patient records, prescriptions and hospital records.
“Attempts have been made to use blockchain in order to protect information of individuals safely, but it has been pointed out that the performance degrades as the data size increases due to the characteristics of the blockchain.”
HEX intends to develop this through a series of partnerships such as with ASTON, otherwise known as XBC Technologies, Plc. in Singapore. This also includes a further partnership with TPLUS, a company with direct experience in developing systems for medical institutions, specifically, the FHIR system of the Korean Healthcare Government.
Why is HEX trying to apply blockchain to the medical sector? It was due in large part to a challenge laid down by Zhang Shouyi, an academic at the Chinese Academy Of Sciences, when in July, he called upon developers and companies to adopt a far-reaching desire and outlook towards applying blockchain technology wherever they can see problems.
“We need to realize the power of blockchain and understand what the technology cannot do.”
While HEX's move is a bold and challenging one, they are certainly not the only company to go this direction with blockchain technology. In June, the Filipino-based company, Cool Kids entered a partnership with a blockchain company based in Boston with the intention of improving the delivery of health care across the Philippines.
