High-Powered Drones Now Mining on the Monero via Astral AR and Core Scientific’s Project Palladium
Astral AR has teamed up with Core Scientific have teamed together to put mining software on high-powered drones, Cryptoslate reports. This means that there are high speed drones are now securing the Monero network.
The Texas based Astral AR specializes in safety drones. The company announced it was partnering with Core Scientific which deals with blockchain infrastructure as well AI aspects. Core Scientific is headed by former Microsoft COO Kevin Turner.
The new project is referred to as ‘project palladium’ and will see Astral AR using a proprietary software developed by Core Scientific known as Minder and Minder OS. The new software will monetize the unused processing power using high-tech safety drones which will help in securing the Monero network.
Leah La Salla, Astral AR CEO, explained that her firm is keen in helping to stopping bullets making societies and neighborhoods secure and safe. The drones will be availed to law enforcement agencies to help in accomplishment of the mission. She explained:
“Our mission is to ensure the EDNA public safety drone is available to law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and schools nationwide to stop bullets and save lives.”
Unused Hardware to Produce Revenue
Following the new partnership between the two companies, hardware which has been idle for a while can now be used to produce revenue in form of XMR.
It is estimated that the hardware will be able to finance their costs over some years which will allow the underfunded departments access the emerging technologies. A statement released by Core Scientific explained further:
“Not only does this allow law enforcement, fire rescue and government to benefit from blockchain technologies, but this solution helps self-fund hardware that is otherwise unobtainable due to barrier of entry.”
This will also see majority of government agencies and departments use blockchain to enhance service delivery.
Core Scientific CTO, Kristy-Leigh Minehan explained that the current partnership between the two companies is a classic example of how proof of work blockchains can offer in the economy.
The CTO further explained that project Palladium will not only offer computing backbone to an emerging technology which has enhanced developments around cryptography, but also will enable lifesaving technology to be available to people who need it most.
The CTO exuded confidence that the new project will be a success and will spur development of related technologies with the aim of making communities secure. Will the new project help in enhancing safety and security in neighborhoods? Let us know in the comments section.
