How to Judge a Blockchain Project by Code Contributors: Top 6 Crypto Developer Communities
Top 6 Digital Currencies with Large Developer Communities
There are several metrics for evaluating the value of a digital currency project. One of these parameters is the number of developers that are committed to improving the specific project. According to Crypto Code Watch, the following six blockchain projects have the highest numbers of active developers on their cryptocurrency platforms.
Ethereum Classic
Despite being rather unpopular in the crypto space, ETC token holders believe that the project has a lot of benefits. The total number of developers on the Ethereum Classic network at the time of writing was 277. However, only five coders have contributed to the network over the past one week.
Status
Lately, the crypto space has been rather silent on the development of the Status crypto token. Nonetheless, the many noticeable changes are an indicator that the developers are actively making adjustments, albeit behind the scenes. The project currently has 322 developers, 40 of whom were active over the past week.
LBRY Credits
LBRY Credits is a content-sharing platform that is entirely controlled by its membership community. As of now, the LBRY Credits network has 334 developers. Over the past week, 19 were actively contributing to the code.
Monero
Monero is renowned for its strong emphasis on user privacy and anonymity of transactions. Despite the rising prevalence of cryptojacking incidence against Monero, the coin is still promising, at least on the front of its development community. The current number is 350, but several pointers indicate that it will continue to grow in due course. Moreover, 11 developers made changes to the blockchain’s code over the past week.
Qtum
In addition to being listed on several crypto exchange platforms, Qtum was also recently featured on the Circle investment app. This shows that the open-source value transfer platform that focuses on mobile DApps is gaining popularity. For now, Qtum has a total of 388 developers. Over the past week, six developers were active.
Ethereum
As expected, Ethereum has the highest number of developers. In fact, it is estimated that the Ethereum developer community has almost 1,000 individuals, a figure that is well above other blockchain networks. Over the past week, 56 developers modified the code of the Ethereum platform.
