Huawei Blockchain-as-a-Service (BaaS) Platform: BCS Blockchain Service?

The multinational Chinese tech company, Huawei, has announced today that the company has decided to take a new step in the direction of using the blockchain technology by launching the Blockchain Cloud Service (BCS), a new blockchain-as-a-Service platform.

Who Will Use Huawei’s New Blockchain Software?

According to the Huawei's document, known as a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, the company’s priority is to use this new blockchain development technology in services for supply chains, finances, internet of things, cloud network synergy, logistics, among other activities.

The document also states the importance of security on a blockchain and that it will use three different layers and a combination of software and hardware protection to create one of the most secure systems in the market, even mentioning homomorphic encryption and zero-knowledge proofs.

The solutions offered by the company can be used in many phases of development of products: planning, purchase, research, launch, etc. The most important features of the project will be the flexibility to use this technology, on-demand charging and the decrease of the operational costs.

The White Paper has been released on the company’s official site today. Here is a snippet from the white paper:

“Huawei blockchain cloud services are based on open source techniques in data management, security encryption and other core technologies accumulated over the years. Huawei’s blockchain cloud service is an easy-to-use, flexible and efficient universal and basic technology, focusing on helping developers build enterprise-class blockchain industry solutions on cloud and Huawei applications quickly and efficiently,”

Huawei’s Smart Contracts

According to Huawei, the users of this new blockchain will be able to use smart contracts, one of the most secure ways to define and ensure transactions online, as it solves the trust problem that is so common since the beginning of the internet.

The service will be delivered via the Huawei Cloud, which ensures that the service will have lower costs and be always accessible to the clients.

Recently, other giant Chinese companies like Baidu and Tencent have also launched their own blockchains.
