It seems like the popularity and utility of bitcoin is increasing in Denmark. In 2014, Hungry.dk, a food purchasing platform, announced that it would be accepting payments in Bitcoin.
According to the platform’s representative in a recent comment to Bitcoinist,
“We have accepted Bitcoin as a payment method for quite some time. We decided to remove the feature temporarily last year though because the average transaction time took too long, and the experience wasn’t the best. The problem has since been solved and have added the option again . . . Hungry.dk handles the payment, so you will always be able to use Bitcoins with all the restaurants currency found on Hungry.dk.”
This platform enables customers to order food from 1,500 restaurants. And the platform’s acceptance of Bitcoin means that the restaurants accept the payment as well. The hope is that when one platform starts accepting payments in crypto, then others will follow suit.
