Where Is Ice Rock Mining Located?

Based on the information above, you’d have to assume that Ice Rock Mining is based in some secret military bunker inside of a mountain. Well, that’s exactly where the company is located.

The mining farm is located in a former secret bunker in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The bunker was built by the Soviet Union in the 1950s, when they created huge mountain bunkers in the event of nuclear war. They cut out caves in the mountains of Kazakhstan, although these caves were designed to accommodate technical equipment. Ice Rock Mining has combined Soviet technologies with cryptocurrency mining.

The Ice Rock Mining Token Sale

The company is seeking to sell ROCK tokens to raise money for its mining project. The ROCK token is an ERC20 Ethereum token which gives the right to purchase IRM capacity according to the pricing plan outlined in the whitepaper.

  2. IRM is an enterprise or a business entity. .. According to the Review of Energy Tariffs paper published by Innogate in 2015, in Kazakhstan. It is true that for households the cost of one kW is ~USD0.035 ( KZT11.6) thats in 2015 prices, that’s for a household, on average as there are on- and off-peak tariffs… For a business it is about the same. Not sure if crypto mining would be considered as agricultural business even if it is located in rural area. .. It remains to be seen whether IRM will qualify as farm.
    The fact that the temperature in the bunkers remains the same @12C does not necessarily mean that it will stay the same when heat generating equipment is used. With increasing difficulty level mining is relentlessly becoming more and more expensive and generates a LOT of heat…
    I reckon this project is a far cry from hunky-dory… Although good luck to you guys …

  4. Heat management is simply a case of air flow. ASHRAE standards allow up to 27 degrees Celsius to be supplied to IT Equipment. What is essential is an adequate air flow quantity from the outside sent into the IT Data Room, directed through the front of the IT Equipment and then exhausted to the outside – this take fan power. Also critical will be redundancy in the setup – always have a back up – free advice – your’e welcome and yes I’m thinking of investing…just doing my research now..

  7. Can you clarify the difference between ROCK tokens that are listed on Etherdelta and ROCK2 tokens being sold during the ICO (April-May 2018).
    The CEO said tokens are traded on eherdelta during a recent YouTube Q &A but I do not see ROCK2 tokens listed on etherdelta. Will ROCK tokens convert to ROCK2 tokens or vice versa? Or are these in fact all the same token?
