Investors in Bitcoin Begin sending BTC to “Elliott” After Spotting A Bitcoin Address in Mr. Robot
Bitcoin investors in the United States have discovered a Bitcoin address in Mr. Robot and are already sending their Bitcoins to “Elliot.” Hacker Elliot Alderson has coded a program that will be used to clean money using crypto. By using the program, users can comfortably siphon BTC and cash it without being traced nor caught.
The program branded “Elliott” will make it easy to steal BTC and other digital coins without being traced. Elliott Mixer will make Bitcoin tracing a problematic process just like CoinJoin, where users can shuttle their BTC to conceal their histories. Programs of such kind have gained popularity in the United States due to the rise of analysis companies such as Chainalysis and Elliptic.
Reports are showing that “Elliott” has already been used to siphon BTC. A total of 0.0044470 BTC has been sent to Elliott. The question that raises eyebrows is, why such small amounts of Bitcoin in transaction? Only $32 worth of Bitcoin has been received by Elliot.
Elliot’s program uses the address 1MbwAEKJCtPYpLPxEkUmZxwjk63nQrpbXo, which has already featured in 5 Bitcoin transactions since its launch on November 24 according to Blockchain.com.
Two days ago, the masterminds behind the Bitcoin address sent a total of 0.00030343 BTC to other external addresses. One of the external addresses is a multi-sig wallet that is very active and has transacted more significant amounts of over 1 BTC. In the last couple of months, the wallet has witnessed 350 transactions and received close to 1.5 BTC and currently has a balance of 0.94 BTC.
It is still not established why people are sending Bitcoin to the unknown address. Coincidentally, this happens when the price of BTC continues to drop drastically.
