IOTA Foundation Releases Trinity Wallet for Secure mIOTA Token Storage

According to a press state statement released on the 2nd of July, the IOTA Foundation – developers of the IOTA protocol – have fully released a new and secure IOTA token wallet, the Trinity. According to the press release, the new wallet would be great for users because it’s advertised to have better security features and will also be a lot easier to use.

This was specifically done as a way of attracting not only professional users but also newbies too.

Before this full release, the Beta version of Trinity has already been significantly successful as it had been downloaded more than 160,000 times and successfully transacted more than $1.8 billion worth of IOTA.

Since late last year the IOTA Foundation has collaborated with Ledger wallet and so the new Trinity software wallet is also fully compatible with the hardware wallets from Ledger. Furthermore the new Trinity wallets will be available on both mobile and desktop operating systems including iOS, Android, Linux, Mac and Windows.

It will also be available in at least 25 different languages and will feature biometric authentication as well as maintain Keepass-compliant security and encryption.

Trinity Passed Cybersecurity Tests

The new Trinity wallet has reportedly been audited and reviewed by two of the world's most foremost cybersecurity establishments including Accessec and SixGen.

Ethan Dietrich, CEO of SixGen, threw his weight behind Trinity, professing that the wallet has commendable security features and praised the team behind the wallet for a job well done. Dietrich said:

“We are happy to bring our commitment to rigorous security testing and superior wallet security to the IOTA Foundation’s Trinity wallet. It is clear the Trinity team takes security very seriously and has applied best practices throughout the wallets development. SixGen’s in-depth review and testing ensures users can store and send tokens with confidence and peace of mind.”

Also, Dominik Schiener, the co-founder of the IOTA Foundation promises that Trinity will satisfy the needs of the cryptosphere. According to Schiener:

“Our industry-leading wallet, Trinity, delivers on IOTA’s goal to provide secure, accessible and community-driven token storage for the international cryptocurrency marketplace. We have partnered with our IOTA community to ensure we are addressing the cryptocurrency markets needs with the utmost levels of excellence.”

Some Trinity Wallet Features

Compatible with Hardware

Unity is compatible with the Ledger Nano S, X and Blue wallets. Trinity already boasts of higher security features but when used together with the hardware wallets, security becomes increased.

Price monitoring and conversion

On the Trinity wallet, users can easily track price movements and patterns and also conduct IOTA transactions faster as the software makes it easier to view conversions to and from fiat.

User Experience

Added to the wallet for a more involved user experience is the option to select different themes for an opportunity to personalise the app.

Automatic Node Management

The full Trinity release also automatically manages all nodes all in a bid to guarantee constant access to Tangle, IOTA’s blockchain alternative.

The IOTA Foundation was founded in 2017 by David Sønstebø, Dominik Schiener, and Serguei Popov. Based in Berlin, Germany, it aims to directly facilitate the deployment of the Internet of Things (IoT) era.
