IOTA Smart City Hackaton Hosted by Hackster.io Looks to Create Smart Electricity to Parking Lots
IOTA has been leading the effort of collecting various innovative solutions that could be used in building smart cities; all this is being achieved with the help of the Tangle.
The foundation has gone ahead to announce the launch of their Smart City, the Hackathon. One that will get hosted at the Hackster.io, a company that has been considered to be the most significant hardware oriented community that you can find in the city.
With this initiative in place, it will help in streamlining the adoption of the IOTA protocol.
Moving from the smart electricity to the smart parking lots
The participants who will be part of the Smart City contest will actually be required to go ahead and develop a creative, open source solution, this will be done by utilizing the IOTA Tangle.
For the developers in the contest, they are expected to address the real world problems that we see in the market especially those that are met by the numerous corporate clients.
The theme for the event includes smart energy, the use of smart mobility, smart districts and smart buildings. An excellent example of the challenges that are faced in the market is trying to trace the origin of renewable energy; this is from the solar panel straight to your home.
There is $10,000 worth of the MIOTA that is at stake
For the individuals who will be able to manage in coming up with a quality project code that will be considered to be relevant enough to solve some of the proposed problems, while still being able to leverage on the IOTA technology could be given the opportunity to get up to about $1,500 that will be worth the MIOTA.
Each of the categories they have identified will have about three winners who will get $1,500, $750 plus $250 respectively. All the projects are expected to be submitted through the Hackster.io till the 6th of April.
