If you work with content online, you probably know that monetization is a very important part of the game. It’s how you manage to live and get food on your table, after all. This is why IOTA, the 15th largest crypto in the market today, is set on creating new ways of people monetizing their content.

Today, the company has released a plugin called “IOTA Pay Per Content WordPress Plugin”. The tech was announced by the co-founder of the network, Daniel De Micheel. According to his tweet, the new plugin is a contribution from IOTA Argentina and it is ready for release.

If you want to get to know more about this plugin, you can visit Github where it is currently hosted at the time. While the release happened today, it is “a work in progress”, according to IOTA, so you should expect it to have some issues in case you are willing to try it.

The Github page affirms that the plugin can be used on WordPress and that it is the decision of the content writer or website creator to determine whether the content will be accessible only when the transactions are finished or not, which can help to prevent scams.

According to the page, the main reason for this is because it is very easy to send fake payments, so the option to let the user wait until the payment is done is mostly in order to protect the content creator from any harm.

IOTA Pay Per Content has a pretty simple idea. You can use it to create paywalls on your site and only let people see the content after they have paid for it. This way, users can use IOTA tokens in order to access the content.

How To Install The IOTA Pay Per Content Plugin?

So, you are interested in using this new technology to receive payments from your content. What now? The installation of the plugin is also described on the site. The first step is to download the repository as a .zip file and then rename the folder to iota-ppc-wp-plugin.

After you have already done that, just upload the folder on your WordPress directory and then activate the plugin using the Dashboard in the Plugins section. As soon as you do that, you can to the IOTA PPC configuration page and decide the node that you want to use. After that, just enter the address and you will be ready to receive the payments.

You can still select whether to wait for payment confirmation and how much you are willing to charge so that people can view your work.

While this is a very interesting solution, it is pretty clear that you need to be a least somewhat tech-savvy in order to use it. The process may be fairly simple, but you need some technical knowledge.
