iPayYou – Safe Bitcoin Wallet For Gift Cards, Amazon & Starbucks?

iPayYou claims to be the world’s easiest, safest, and most practical bitcoin wallet. Find out how it works today in our review.

    What is iPayYou?

iPayYou, found online at, is a bitcoin wallet that lets you spend your bitcoin at Amazon, Starbucks, and other popular retailers. You can also use iPayYou to pay anyone through their email address or Twitter handle. iPayYou supports 16 banks across the United States. You can deposit money into the platform using an ordinary ACH transfer.

The platform launched in May 2016. The company behind iPayYou is based in Seattle. In fact, the company was founded by a former director of Amazon Associates – and a Microsoft veteran – named Gene Kavner.

    How Does iPayYou Work?

iPayYou functions like other online wallets. You can deposit money, store money, send money, and send it to other users.

To make a payment, the user fills the recipient’s email or bitcoin address into the app. They also write the name of the recipient, then click “Continue” and confirm the transaction. It takes 3 to 4 business days for bitcoin to be deposited into your iPayYou wallet.

The core functions and features of the platform include:

    Purchase Popular Gift Cards:

iPayYou lets you purchase gift cards for Amazon, Starbucks, Best Buy, Apple, and other major retailers. You can purchase gift cards, then send your gift cards to anyone. You can also sell gift cards back to iPayYou. New brands are being added regularly. Certain gift cards also come with a bonus offer. If you buy an Amazon gift card through the platform, for example, then you’ll get 5% off. Starbucks gift cards are 3% off (i.e. you get 3% or 5% more value on your card than what you initially deposited).

Pay Anyone by Email or Twitter:

Sending money to someone is as easy as entering their Twitter handle or email address. Your friend doesn’t need to have a bitcoin address to receive a payment from you (they’ll just be asked to create an account on iPayYou).

    Cancel Transactions:

You can cancel transactions before the recipient claims it – which is useful if you’ve accidentally sent money to the wrong Twitter account or email address.

    Buy and Sell Bitcoin:

iPayYou lets you fund your account from 16 banks in the United States. Depositing money into your iPayYou account is as easy as an ACH transfer.

    Automatic Withdrawals:

You can withdraw money from iPayYou to your bank account, or setup an auto-withdraw to automatically withdraw money at any time.

iPayYou lets you maintain control of the funds in your personal account. You retain full control of your funds and can view your balance directly on the blockchain.
