- A mega boost to crypto adoption
- Unconfirmed rumors of eBay to accept Binance Coin, BNB up over 9%
Amidst the crypto retreat in the wide market, pictures of eBay to finally accept cryptocurrencies from Consensus 2019 event came into the spotlight.
One of the largest marketplaces in the world, eBay boasts a reach of 179 million people from around the globe. This presents a massive potential to drive the cryptocurrency adoption amongst the online merchants.

eBay is one of the sponsors of Consensus 2019 and the pictures have taken the crypto community in a frenzy. For some time now, eBay has been contemplating accepting Bitcoin and other digital assets which if the rumors are true will finally become real.
Back in December 2017, Scott Cutler, Senior Vice President of eBay Americas had said that the e-Commerce retailer is
accepting Bitcoin payments but the company
“is not quite there yet.”
Crypto community is excited as one such Twitter user @jettero55 said,
“This is a great rumor! I hope it is true. More crypto adoption and growth is what is needed. Fantastic! This might be the year for massive growth in crypto broadly!!”
While another enthusiast @rodrgabr2 said in part,
“No doubt they'll try to get on board. Overstock is ahead of them in that regard. But still, privacy is my main issue.”
There are also unconfirmed rumors that eBay will accept Binance Coin (BNB) that could be the driving factor behind BNB decoupling from the market and surging by over 8 percent while the majority of the market is in red.
This would be huge for me and my Ebay business. Would love to not pay PayPal 2.9%. Please say it's so.
