Jane Street And Flow Traders Are Trading Bitcoin And Other Virtual Currencies

The quantitative trading firms and liquid providers Jane Street Financial and Flow Traders NV, are currently trading Bitcoin (BTC) and other virtual currencies including Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), and Litecoin (LTC). Both companies are involved in crypto trading activities as authorized participants for the Amun Crypto ETP.

The Amun Crypto ETP was launched the last week in Switzerland and it allows investors to have exposure to virtual currencies. The price of the ETP is based on different virtual currencies that it holds.

Jane Street and FLow Traders will be supplying the ETP with virtual currencies. Both quantitative trading firms backed the product by purchasing an initial number of units of the product. The main intention behind this decision was to provide initial liquidity.

Nevertheless, both companies did not disclose the number of virtual currencies that both of them hold. Furthermore, they did not provide information about the cryptocurrencies that they are trading and how much money they have invested in this ETP.

The ETP is regulated by the SIX Swiss Exchange, which is one of the largest stock exchanges in Europe. There are several products being released to the market for new companies and investors to have access to virtual currencies in regulated environments.

In the United States, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) could approve a Bitcoin Exchange-Traded Fund at the beginning of the coming year. This would allow new individuals to have exposure to the virtual currency market.
